In reply to Rochelle Hobbs. Hi Rochelle! Yes, you can park there overnight. The trailhead is just past Schofield Pass, which can be reached via Gothic road through Mount Crested Butte and Gothic. Oct 4/5 might be fine, or it might be really snowy- it's anyone's guess at that time of year. Good luck!

Hi Brittany, I’m not sure if you still monitoring the comments on this blog post, but I am planning a trip to hike CB to Aspen and then back across from Aspen to CB the next day. I have searched the internet hight and low and your post has offered me a getter idea of what to expect. I am still really unclear about the CB trailhead- if you can park there overnight and how to get there. Also I will be doing this the October 4/5 hopefully that is not too late in the fall for this hike.

In reply to Brittany Walker Konsella. This was the price quoted to me by Dolly’s for a ride from the ending trailhead back to the start. And yet I see much lower prices referenced on blogs and tourism websites but I have no idea how anyone accesses these rates.

Thanks! We’re now looking at just doing it one-way, in one day. The shuttles seem so expensive, though, upwards of $600. What service did you use and what do you recommend?
