I have really like top loaders with back panel access in the past. It seems like the best of both worlds though it can add some weight and it has some potential for failure.

As for diagonal carry, it’s all I tend to use. A pack that is designed well for it, such as the BCA Float 32 airbag pack that I use until springtime hits, won’t flop around at all.

Seems like most cross-carry ski setups are a receipe for the skis to flop around. Thanks for the review.
