I will check out Anna’s blog for sure and connect. And, I will let you know as soon as I’m blogging again w/ nutrition for healing – if you’re interested or think your readers would be, the foundation of my nutrition for pain strategy can be found here: http://www.apexnutritionllc.com/fuelrightblog/2016/11/22/tuesdays-healthy-fuel-recipe-let-your-food-be-your-pain-medicine/ – I posted this before my knee injury; it’s applicable for everyday athlete aches and pains, injury, recovery, etc. I’ve using these strategies now and had minimal pain through my journey so far, albeit with slightly greater doses than listed here. Anyway, take it or leave it:). Thanks again, sending positive thoughts for your continued healing, and I’ll be in touch.

Hi Kelli! Great to hear from you! Yes, info on quad grafts is difficult to find, but I continue to be very happy with my graft choice. Please direct anti-inflammation and healing nutrition articles to us and we’ll share them! Also, you may want to check out my friend Anna’s blog at http://aclanna.blogspot.com/. She is 5 days post-op, also with ACL / quad graft and lives in the Front Range! You two should connect!

Even from afar, it’s so nice to have company;). My name is Kelli Jennings and I have followed many of your skiing adventures before anyway…I too love all things backcountry skiing (incl 14er skiing), mtb, trail running etc. We also lived in CB for 5 years, now in Golden. I tore my acl and mcl (grade 3) backcountry skiing in late January and also chose the quad tendon for repair. I’m just 1 week post op on the acl repair now after allowing 6 weeks for mcl to make a full recovery, and thankfully, it did (whether or not my mcl would need to be replace was determined during surgery)! I have found it tough to find many quad tendon stories since it’s somewhat uncommon and newer than hamstring tendon grafts, so hopefully we can give others good info and tell them how incredibly strong our knees and legs are months out;). I’ll also be posting on my site about my recovery, and I’ll be highlighting the nutrition aspects for recovery (both for healing and reducing pain and inflammation) – I’m a RD sports nutritionist. Anyway, thanks again and I wish you the best in a full strong recovery. Take care! Kelli

I’ll be visiting Crested Butte in Feb and I want to hook up with some local bc skiers for day trips. Who do you know, and how can I connect with welcoming local skiers?
